Grays and Torreys 14er Hike with MuvLab-DTC

We're excited to head out into the mountains with many of you this weekend!  The staff and clients of MuvLab-DTC will be testing our fitness against two of Colorado's 14ers.  We're meeting at the Dinosaur Parking Lots in Golden, CO at 5am on Sunday, July 24th.  From Golden we will head west on I70 to the Bakerville, CO exit (#221).  The trailhead is 3 miles up a dirt road (low-clearence vehicles not recommended).

Dinosaur Parking Lots - On the northwest corner of Hwy 40 and I70.

The hike is 8.5 miles round-trip if you hike both Grays and Torreys.  You will have the option to hike only Grays.  If you don't wish to hike Torreys, you can either wait in the saddle between the two peaks or you can hike back down to the trailhead.  Don't let the weather forecast in Denver fool you, it's not uncommon for the temps to be in the 30-40s at the summit even during the summer months.  As you can expect, the wind can also be quite strong at the top so we always recommend bringing clothing to protect yourself from the wind/sun.

After the hike we will have a grill with some burgers, brats, and beverages.  Please feel free to bring a small item to share with the group.

We look forward to an awesome day in the mountains!

Items you should bring:
Layers (not cotton), wind pants, rain jacket, gloves, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottles or CamelBak type hydration pack, snacks (trail mix, fruit, bars, sandwiches, etc).
